The Curious Squid
It is the Curious Squid's curiosity that is the curious thing about them.
New things which enter their world interest them a lot, which of course include nets, tridents, hooks...

About Me

"Of course, Ankh-Morpork's citizens had always claimed that the river water was incredibly pure. Any water that had passed through so many kidneys, they reasoned, had to be very pure indeed."
--Terry Pratchett, Sourcery

Discworld is a flat, circular planet that rests on the back of four elephants, which are standing on the back of a great, flying turtle.

Don't ask. You might as well try to find out fortitude smells like.

It's a completely different world from Earth of course, it has elves, vampires, dwarves, dragons, fairies, gods, demons, witches, wizards, trolls, gnolls, and golems. It also has frantic operas, well-provided universities, restless minority groups, sleepy villages, persistent journalists, drunken barmen, camel-riding nomads, arrogant aristocrats, countless assassination attempts, pretentious cults, scheming murderers and traitors, obssessed groupies, and cynical bastards.

Detritus, City Watch sergeant. The sight of this troll in Ankh-Morpork is enough to dispel a riot.

Yup, it's completely unlike our world.

Discworld is definitely not our world, but it eerily resembles it, and the sheer contrary humanity of all the characters on this extremely flat planet is as challenging and hilarious as our own at its best and worst.
